Promenade
Gavin Lockhart

Promenade will be a projection on a series of banners. Acting as a screen, fluttering 3m high panels will capture images of people of all ages enjoying the promenade and seaside. Year 4 pupils of Marine Park First School will be capturing the Victorian era, whilst Tea Dance enthusiasts from North Tyneside will take a stroll down memory lane with a dance in the Dome. These earlier eras will be contrasted with contemporary images of jogging, dog walking and skateboarding.

Gavin Lockhart lives on the far North Coast of Scotland and has worked in a wide range of visual and video arts and environmental art projects. Describing himself as a 'Grandadaist', he has collaborated on many community and live performance based projects throughout Scotland and the UK and continues to focus on experimentation with video and the land around him.
